The Seychelles are a rarity in modern tourism in that they remain untouched and unspoiled by mass tourism and the country has retained its reputation as a high quality, exclusive destination. As a result the Seychelles are more expensive than other destinations in the Indian Ocean. Are they worth it? Yes: visiting these islands is a truly unique experience with the added bonus of fewer tourists and deserted beaches...
SEASONS: High season in the Seychelles generally tends to fall during school holidays (Christmas, Easter, July, August to mid-September and half-terms in October and February) and consequently prices for both flights and accommodation tend to be at their highest. This is not always the case with all the hotels and we can advise you of alternative options if you can be flexible with your dates.
AIRLINES: Only scheduled airlines fly to the Seychelles. Generally speaking airfares to the Indian Ocean are around £300-600 but be prepared to pay an additional £200-400 in taxes and surcharges. Fares are usually less expensive if you travel out midweek. We will always seek the best available fares at the time of quoting/booking.
HOTELS: The cost of rooms will vary from less than £100 to over £1000 per person per night, depending on where and when you’re travelling. Our advice is always to take the best room type available to your budget, especially as you may only visit these islands once in your lifetime.
ISLAND HOPPING: Staying on more than one island during your holiday is the ideal way to experience the different islands of the Seychelles. The catamaran services, domestic flights and transfers will add to the basic cost of staying somewhere for 7 nights (added transfers typically from £180 per person for an additional main island), but it is well worth it. As the islands are so small, the transfers themselves don’t take up too much time in the day and they are an ideal way to experience and visit the islands themselves.
DURATION – HOTEL OFFERS: Many hotels will offer complimentary nights for longer stays (for even as few as 4 consecutive nights) and details can be found on the OFFERS page on the hotel information pages.
