The Sainte Anne Resort & Spa is located on the private island of Sainte Anne. It is an exclusive resort, set amongst stunning tropical gardens and surrounded by three beautiful beaches, strewn with granite rocks. The accommodation is villa style and each spacious villa has a secluded garden with views of the ocean and a furnished gazebo for al fresco dining. The resort has an excellent reputation for its exceptional cuisine and offers a choice of up to five restaurants.
Nestled in an idyllic tropical setting, the Spa by Clarins is a spacious sanctuary for the body and mind. For the more energetic, there are plenty of sports and leisure facilities on offer, ranging from the new fitness centre to complimentary water sports. Located within a marine national park, the island offers guests exceptional opportunities to explore the exotic marine life in the area. There are also three different treks to discover the many facets of the island under the guidance of qualified staff. Regular boat transfers to and from the island are available during the day for guests wishing to shop or explore Mahé and the capital Victoria.
The scenic car journey from the airport to the hotel’s private jetty on Mahé takes just 10 minutes and then it’s a short 10 minute shuttle boat ride to the island.
In our opinion: an elegant resort with an extensive range of facilities, luxurious accommodation, excellent cuisine, in a superb location.
Sainte Anne is available on both a Half Board and All Inclusive basis until 31st October 2011. From the 1st November 2011 Ste Anne is on an All Inclusive basis only. Superb cuisine is served in the resort's five restaurants.
The main restaurant, L’Abondance is situated opposite the ocean and pool and specializes in buffets which change on a daily basis.
From its look-out at the top of a granite outcrop, the well renowned Le Mont Fleuri restaurant offers commanding views of Sainte Anne island and Mahé. Dining is at tree-top level where guests may choose superb dishes.
Dotted on the beach opposite L’Abondance is a string of thatched pavilions linked together by a stone walkway, providing the setting for L’Océane restaurant. It specialises in fresh fish and seafood complemented by a few local dishes.
Le Robinson is situated in a spectacular setting, with an uninterrupted view over the ocean, on the beach beneath Le Mont Fleuri. It is lined on one side with granite rocks and on the other with tall takamaka trees.
The Takamaka Beach Bar is located on Anse Tortue beach. It has breathtaking views over the surrounding islands and provides a natural setting where guests can sit with their toes in the sand, in the shade of a century’s old Takamaka tree. It is open for lunches and drinks, between November and April.
The 87 spacious, open-plan villas are beautifully designed and are scattered throughout the gardens and along the two main beaches of the island.
Each Villa has:
The Ocean Pool Villas and Senior Pool Villas are more spacious with private plunge pool.
The Presidential Villa has a spacious dining area between the two bedrooms, courtyard shower, covered seating terrace for al fresco dining and exclusive use of a club car.
The Royal Villa has 3 en-suite bedrooms with dressing area, cliff top location, private swimming pool, sun deck, large lounge with dining area, personal butler service and exclusive use of a club car.
The island of Sainte Anne is a favourite nesting ground for sea turtles and the turtle egg laying season spans a period from October to January every year. Each day, three turtles on average come ashore to lay their eggs on one of the six beaches or creeks that form the shores of Sainte Anne. Most of them are hawksbill turtles but some green sea turtles may also be spotted occasionally.
About two months later, mainly on the secluded beach of Anse Manon, baby turtles make their way towards the ocean for the first time. The Hotel has committed itself to a protection programme with the help of Sainte Anne's marine park authorities. Each birth which occurs on the island is reported and turtles are regularly counted and weighed.
This luxury Spa by Clarins has been beautifully created to blend in harmoniously with the luxuriant environment and offers a full range of health and relaxation treatments. The Spa is divided into three main sections; one area is dedicated to beauty while the other is the domain of the massage cabins. The central area of the Spa is dedicated to rest and relaxation around the wooden deck surrounding a pool. Facilities include double massage cabins, cabins dedicated to Ayurveda, yoga and stretching, a balneotherapy room, a beauty parlour, Hammams and saunas.
